For Women: When God Chooses to Hide You in the Wilderness

Ever felt like God closed His eyes, put His finger on some random place of the map… which happened to be a wilderness… and dropped you there to fend for yourself?  It’s not a lush, comfortable place. when you look around, you think really?  How is THIS PLACE in your plan for me?  I’ve been there and quite honestly I thought, God why have you punished me?  What have I done to deserve a place like this where it’s dry and lacking…?  Here is what God has imposed upon me:  In that wilderness place we often do feel like we are being punished and are left there, forgotten about, for no particular reason.  Yet, God continuously works in our favor.  You see, there are times…seasons in life when God is absolutely, insanely jealous for us.  He prefers us all to Himself.  So He chooses to hide us… in the wilderness… in the palm of His hand… for intimacy.  This is where He brings us close into His presence.  Removes the dirt, the filth, the remnants of the past and clothes us with beauty, honor, vitality.  It is a process.  This is where we feel like we are forgotten about.  Yet, if we are quiet long enough for Him to speak, He will show us that He’s doing a long, deep rooted beauty makeover in the very essence of who we are.  Here’s another thing that He reminds me:  Don’t worry!!  You are not going to miss what God has for you while you are in your beauty makeover season.  God knows the plans He has for each one of us.  When He has lead us to this place, it is part of the plan, not a diversion from the plan.

Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God…

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
