God’s Leading Does Not Make Sense

So many times we look a situation in our lives and try to tackle it by what seems obvious and rational.  However, many times God does not lead in ways that make sense.  Let me share an example.  Check out Joshua 5:13-Joshua 6.  There was a dilemma… a wall around Jericho to which no one went in and no one came out. God said, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands (6:2).” Then, He told Joshua to gather the armed men and march around the city once for six days, then seven times on the seventh day with trumpets blowing and the people shouting and then the wall would collapse.  I don’t know about you, but I imagine if I were one of those men that had to march I would probably be thinking, are you nuts? That sounds absolutely crazy….forget it… it makes more sense to me to just scale the wall… so here I go…lol.  I’m thinking I probably would have thrown a defiant fit… thinking it was a waste of time to follow this instruction that looked crazy and made me look crazy, and not just for one day mind you.  Anyhow, the guys obeyed, the wall fell, the Israelites took Jericho.  God did as He said He would do.  So, back to our lives.  You know how we are going to make it to where God is taking each one of us?  Being still, listening, & following.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.
